Pastor G. Agabus Lartey

G. Agabus Nii Lartey was born in Accra, Ghana, in a nominally Christian home. During his youth he sang in the church choir and read the Scriptures during services; but he knew "something" was missing. One night, when in his early 20s, he accompanied a friend to a Pentecostal revival service where, dramatically confronted with the power of the Holy Ghost, he gave his life to Christ. A few years later, sensing God's call to full-time ministry, he resigned from his job. First he served as a youth minister, and later became part of a full-time evangelistic ministry, traveling to various cities and remote villages to spread the Gospel. In 1982 he set off for Benin City, Nigeria, to attend All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, founded by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa. It was there that he met and fell in love with Sonja Bishop, and one year later arrived in Boston to get married. For several years he served as Associate Pastor at a local church until 1994 when he sensed God's leading to plant a Foursquare church in Boston. And thus Family Life Fellowship was born.

Pastor Agabus is a gifted and engaging speaker. His vast knowledge of Scripture, coupled with his ability to expound it in amazingly practical terms, are the hallmarks of his ministry.

Agabus serves as the Greater Boston Division Superintendent for Foursquare churches, and in 2007 was voted to serve on Foursquare’s Board of Directors. He his wife are the proud parents of Jason and Kristen.

Message from Pastor AGABUS: It is important for me to state, right off the bat, that Family Life Fellowship is not a "Black" or "White" or "American" or "African" or "West Indian" church. We vehemently resist any cultural or ethnic label; instead, we find our identity in Scripture. People of all cultural and ethic backgrounds are welcome at Family Life Fellowship, a place where "the complexion of the family is a reflection of creation."

In the early days, God gave me a vision for this church which consisted two groups of alliterative words: Worship, Word, Works and their counterparts Communion, Communication, Community. Family Life Fellowship is:
...a family that creates glory through reverent worship.

We believe in establishing an appropriate atmosphere where the Holy Spirit feels free to manifest Himself; therefore, deliberate and conscious demonstrations of praise and worship are actively engaged in here. Worship is communion with the Lord.
...a family that fills its life with the transforming Word.

We believe that the application of Biblical injunction is the only true and lasting method of changing one’s life; therefore, we regularly expose ourselves to the stark truth of God’s Word, simultaneously allowing the power therein to effect the necessary transformation in us. Communication of the Word of God is spoken in the way we conduct our lives.
... a family that fills its world with good works.

We believe in "practicalizing" our Christianity – whether by addressing the needs of our neighbors, or by ensuring that our everyday lives measure up to The Highest Moral Standard: the Word of God. Our good works seen in the community are the natural results of the practice of worship combined with the application of the Word.

My constant prayer for Family Life Fellowship is that our lives would bear much fruit to the glory of God; that others will see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.
